Getting Fancy with some Glitter

Well, after having posted the Ultimate Bare Naked Nail Challenge sponsored by ASK Cosmetics Inc. for a few days now, I thought it was about time to start experimenting. Based on some very helpful feedback received from fellow bloggers I have tried to get some real close-ups of my first attempts with glitter.

BTW - thanks for all your interest in our nail challenge. I have accepted a few nail bloggers, who desperately want to improve the condition of their nails by using the ASK Cosmetics products. The results of all participants will be posted at regular intervals for all to see. We are really excited about this new nail adventure!

So, back to the picture. I applied our ASK Nailwear basecoat and then 3 coats of ASK Nailwear "Sheer French Pink". Seeing as I wanted to add a little bling to it, I topped it off with "Let's Get Star-ted" from the Nicole by OPI collection.

As pretty as this star-studded polish looks, I couldn't manage to get any of the stars on my nails.  Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but no stars and very little sparkle, if you ask me.  But for those of us who don't always want to stand out, it is definitely a simple, understated approach to glitter.  What are you thoughts?

  1. I think your nails are in amazing shape all on there own that no matter what you put on them they will look beautiful! I do love the subtle touch of glitter though :) Can't wait to see pictures of the challenge :) XOXO

  2. Sometimes you have to dab glitter esp when there are bigger pieces. Sometimes you can pick them up with the brush. Always make sure you shake it well or turn the bottle upside down for awhile so the heavier stuff comes to the top!
