Rimmel London's Marine Blue #340

My fascination with shades of blue, in particular turquoise, continues.  While out and about recently I couldn't pass up the chance to pick up yet another Rimmel London polish, and better yet - my favourite summer shade.
Marine Blue #340 goes on very easily with the wider-than-usual application brush.  It certainly makes the 3-stroke application a breeze.  2 coats of polish were applied with TIPS Nail Conditioner applied around cuticles for extra fortification and conditioning after manicure is finished.
As turquoise shades go this is nothing special, and I am sure there are tons of duplicates out there.  In fact, I have featured Essie's Beach Bum Blu previously and these two are quite similar.  The NYC East Village had a very strong greenish undertone to it, which sets it apart from Essie's and Rimmel London's, but they all offer a rich shade very reminiscent of summer, breath-taking lakes, beaches, turquoise jewellery....
I couldn't resist showcasing this shade against some of the gorgeous foliage and freshly-blossomed flowers in my garden.  Enjoy!

Now, just for comparison the next shot is Essie's Beach Bum Blu.

Do you own a favourite turquoise shade?

  1. Those are both pretty blues and look great on you. I never have luck with Essie lasting on me but I do like the Rimmels.
